Medela harmony manual pump versus Avent Isis manual pump?
Looking to purchase a manual pump although electric pumps are better. I don’t want to spend a lot of money so I found these two but not sure which one is better. Either Medela harmony or Avent isis. I will be a stay at home mom so I would only need this if I have to pump that is why I don’t want to purchase such an expensive product like the Medela electronic pump. any reviews on which one is better?

I had great success with my Avent pump, as did my sister.
I was given the Medela pump by my lactation consultant and had great luck with it. And I know a lady my husband works with used Medela as well and she loved hers…well as much as you can love a breast pump I guess. I don’t know of anyone who used an Avent one, sorry!
I can’t choose either!! I’ve heard very good things about both, and everywhere I have looked they are both rated very highly, higher than any of the other brands, but some put Madela as no. 1, others the Avent… I think I will go with Madela just because they have the 2 stage thingy… either way, they are inexpensive enough that you could always try the other one if you aren’t happy with your first choice.
have you had the baby yet? The hospital I gave birth in GAVE me a medela harmony free the day I checked out… pretty cool.. but actually it hurts me like heck, I am waiting for my smaller nipple shields to come in……
The avent isis is what I have and it works well! I think either is a good choice…those were the 2 manuals that were recommended by my lactation consultant.
I used the Medela with my first son who is almost 2 and am currently using the Avent Isis for my 5 month old. I also stay at home and only use the pumps occasionally but the Avent Isis is a million times better than the Medela. I was never able to get much milk by pumping before and I thought that getting only an ounce or so was normal, not so - I have since been able to pump over 4 ounces from one breast with the Avent Isis. Also the Medela ended up getting moldy after a few months, yuck!
I’ve found it hard to get the proper suction and let-down with my Avent Isis pump — much better success with my Medela manual pump.
