I don’t want to buy an electric one because of the price and will probably only need a manual
I’m going back to work from 8-3 in january and my daughter is a week old right now
Will I be able to keep brestfeeding? Do these express enough milk?

You can definitely keep breastfeeding, but you need an electric pump. The Isis works great, but you can only do one breast at a time. For me, this meant that it would take me a little more than 30 minutes to pump, not including getting set up and cleaning up. You will need to pump at least twice, and maybe 3 times during your work day, and I’m sure you don’t want to spend 1 1/2 hours doing so.
I have the Medela Pump In Style, which was a hand me down from my aunt. I like the Isis handpump so much that I am considering splurging and buying their electric pump.
Medela’s are good pumps. I used a PIS and a Harmony (for the times she slept too long at night and I had to pump. i didnt want to have to hook up the electric at 3am). I went back to woek when she was 2 mo and breastfed til she was 6.5 months
I understand you don’t want to buy an electric one, but I think it’s the best idea. It is harder and more time-consuming to hand-pump milk. I have a double electric hands-free pump by Medela and I love it. If you really plan to continue breastfeeding, yes you can do it, but I would invest in some type of double-electric pump. Congrats on your new bundle of joy!
An electric pump is worth the investment. Medela is a good brand. Ameda and Lansinoh are the exact some pumps, just different names. Both work great.
If you will be working fulltime you HAVE to get a double electric breastpump, otherwise it will take you about 40 minutes each time you pump because you have to pump each side for 20 minutes to maintain supply and get enough milk.
If you get WIC ask about a borrow pump, you can rent one from the hospital or medical supply stores, OR you can check with your insurance company (health/medical) many pay for pumps if yor doctor diagnoses an issue (like not able to produce enough milk).
Even if you can’t or won’t get a better pump, its better to pump with those and BF at home than not BF at all…any BM is better than none. Oh btw…see if you can rent a pump until you get your taxes back and use the money you get for having her to buy a GREAT pump, its SOOO worth all the money not to use formula.
