How many bottles do I need? How many onesies?
I live overseas and am pregnant with my first. The baby supplies available here are really low quality, so I’ll be buying most everything online and having it shipped to me. Since, I won’t be able to run out to Target to buy extras, I’d really like to have a good idea of what I’ll need ahead of time.
I’ll be breastfeeding, but plan to have the Avent Isis manual pump for occasional pumping so that Dad (or babysitters) can also help with feeding. How many bottles will I need?
Also, we live in a pretty hot climate so I expect the baby to "live" in onesies. I do have a washing machine, but all our clothes are line-dried, so there is at least a one day turn around with a load of laundry. How many onesies should I have on hand?

Since you are breastfeeding and only will be using a bottle every once in awhile I would suggest having 5, which will probably be more than enough because they are easily washed in between feedings but its nice to have them on hand. As for onesies, Expect that your child could go through 4-5 a day with accidental spit up or diaper leakage. So It would be my opinion to have at least 15 on hand if the child will be wearing those for the most part. Good luck!
I would order at least a dozen bottles, half small and half large. At least a dozen onesies, 2 dozen is probably a better bet. Good luck!
You could start off with at least 6 bottles. You may want at least 2 weeks worth of onesies. You have to consider spit up
and little accidents.
If your baby spits up alot you;ll go through 10 a day easy cuz nothin smells worse than a sour baby. You can never have too many onesies as for bottles you have to figure the times a day you’d feed with bottle a nd also bottles do disappear…. remember though you might want to look into thenipples that are most like breast nipples (theyhave several littel holes) it will help avoid nipple confusion sinc eyou plan on breast feeding
I had way too many onsies with number and never enough with number two. Both were summer babies. I would say a good number would be 20. sometimes they go through a lot and sometimes they don’t. Also if you are pumping the storage bags you can buy and freeze are a wonderful idea to save you on bottles. I would say a few of the 4 oz bottles cause in no time the baby will be demanding more then 4 oz then you will want maybe 4-6 8oz bottles. …. As far as onsies go you might want to be careful on sizes just cause the first size they are in they are going to grow out of FAST! congrats
Well this is what i would keep in a diaper bag few bottles, socks, receiving blankets, washclothes, outfits and pack of onesies and plenty of diapers and wipes and maybe little pair of shoes. And for yourself i would just buy whatever how much you want.
i do not have life experience seeing im pregnant now with my first BUT both my MOTHER AND DOCTOR told me
dont buy too many bottles in the beginning because you dont kno which bottle style and nipple they will take to. especially breastfed babies are used to the breast so they are often picky about nipples. and some bottles cause more gas in different babies.
i just went shopping with my mom and we bought a
4 of the 4oz playtex and a 4 pack of 8oz playtex
1 advent
1 evenflo colic reducing bottle.
obviously i am going to try to just feed him with the playtex but if he doesnt take or it causes too much gas/discomfort i will try the others out.
good luck and congrats.
A whole lot!!!!
