I went to the store today to look for a gift ffor a babyshower, I was also scooping for myself. I noticed all the different bottles, Avent (very expensive) i hope for a reason. There gerber bottles, and the disposable ones with the plastic inside. I wonder witch do other mommies recomend? and also what is the best breast pump out there?

I USED PLAYTEX DROP INS
I am using Dr Browns we love them!
PLAYTEX OR NUC
i like tommy tippee, they don’t leak where my cousin found that the avent did leak even though they were expensive. im going for tommy tippee bottles and stuff like that. they may be expensive but they work the best. good luck
I tried all of the bottles, I think I had at least one of each with my first and finally decided that the bottles with the inserts were my favorite. That’s what I used for the second child. The others were a pain to clean and I found with the baggies there was never any air. As the babies got older and were able to hold the bottles themselves, they found this kind very easy as they could grip on the bottom edge of the bottle. As for the breast pump, I also had a few and found the medela to work quite well. I had the electric version and it converted into a hand held version quite nice.
I used the Vent Air by playtext with my first son, but I will not use it for this new baby due to the BPA in them. I am using the MAM UltiVent by Sassy (about $12 for 3) They’re just like the VentAir but BPA free. Or the Playtext drop ins which are also BPA free. I’ve heard good things about those. Which ever ones you get, make sure they are BPA free. Also, I’ve heard that the Medela pumps are great.
about BPA:

Avent is a very good bottle brand. I used ti and loved it. Most of my family have used avent with their children. I personally do recomend it. And also I recomend getting an electric breast pump because the hand pumps dont always work with everyone.
The little boy I nanny uses the Dr. Brown’s bottles. My best friend started with those and now that her baby is a little older she switched to Mam orthodontic bottles. I, however, will be using the Adiri Natural Nurser. They are quite expensive, $13 a piece, but as I won’t be breast feeding, I want to give my child a feeding experience as close to it as possible. They are also BPA free and won the Medical Design Excellence Award 2008, and the Reddot Design Award 2008.
Here are the websites for all the bottles that I have mentioned, so that your may do a little research and decide which one you like the best.

Medela is the best pump out there! Its expensive but worth it. Of all the mommies I know (like 9 this year!) the only ones still able to breast feed and pump are the ones using the Medela. Playtex drop ins even has adapters that allow you to pump right into them. My little girl has no problems going back and forth between breast feeding and the platex drop in bottles. I definitely recommend them. Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck!

I am 9 weeks pregnant with my 2 child too . I used Avent for my daughter .Is the best it is expensive but is worth it because is so close to mother breast and it give lest air to baby’s stomach . and the bottle is safe it doesn’t have Bisphenol A ,( Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical used primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastic is used for baby bottles (as well as water bottles, medical devices, sports equipment etc) because it is less likely to crack or shatter, which can lead to injuries.)
