Which breast pump is best of these two?
The Madela Swing or Philips Avent Isis? and why? I am down to these two, and I would like to hear about experiences with them, as they are not cheap!

I am trying to express my milk (my daughter is 4.5 months old), but it doesn’t come much with the pump. When my baby sucks it comes. What can be the reason? Shall change the pump or there is any particular food to increase milk flow? (I am currently using Avent Single electrical breast pump)
Hi, me and my son might be travelling overseas in december, he will be 9 months and a half at the time. i exclusively pump and would really like to pump in the plane and give him breastmilk. i iwll buy a european power supply for my medela pump n style. i also have an avent isis pump, but i am sooo used to my electric double pump.
have you done this before and how.
i will be flying with british airways.
the other issue is: who would hold the baby for me while i’m pumping, that if i could pump.
if not i will take the ready made formula cans.
thanks
oh if i want to buy a seat for my baby i will have to spend 1500 dollars!
So I went on ebay in search of the Avent Isis Breast Pump, whether manual or electric, it didn’t matter. I already have an electric pump, but it’s quite painful, and I never seemed to get enough milk out of it. Surprisingly, I got more milk out of my Avent Manual Pump.
Sadly, my husband washed the tiny valve down the kitchen sink, and then, of course, all major stores here pulled Avent product, from bottles to breast pumps off the shelves.
Well, I found quite a few breast pumps on ebay for some pretty decent prices, bu most of them are used. I did find one that was new and sealed and should I get that one, it’ll still cost me less in Canadian currency than it would to wait and see if Avent breast pumps ever go back on shelves here.
But it got my thinking. I personally would never use a used breast pump because of the hygiene issue. Would anyone else ever use a used one, and why or why not?
I plan on breastfeeding my child, but Dad also wants to have a hand in feeding our new baby, so pumping is also in the works for us.
The hospitals also make you buy all the new pieces, such as the suction cups, so they’re just yours.
Do any of you guys use an Avent breast pump? Would you happen to have the costumer service that came with the pump??? I had it but hubby threw away the box and I’m having problems with this little white valve that keeps popping. It’s ANNOYING!!! :p
It’s actually pretty great! I have been using since January. I’ve also been using it the correct way, although it does pop when you pump with just little bit of pressure. 2 of them have broken and I have 1 left
I just need more just in case that last one breaks too so I can keep on feeding da kid ^.^
Is there a website where I can order more of these little white valves?? I tried looking online but only found some site in the UK that does not deliver to the US
With our daughter, we used Avent bottles a lot. We plan on doing this again, and have an Avent breast pump as well. Our only problem before was that when we sterilized the bottles and pump, they got a lot of calcium buildup on them, and eventually became unusable.
I have already sterilized my brand new pump and the bottles using a different pot, and I could feel the calcium already starting to gather on them. All bottles and the pump were brand new, fresh out of the box.
Is there any way that I can get the calcium off, and how can I sterilize them without calcium building up on them again?
Celine, Avent makes BPA free bottles now. Those are the ones we’re using.
I also was planning to use ameda bottles with my breast pump when I have the child I am pregnant with now
iam now using Avent manual pump, but it is really worst pump i hv seen ever.(valve inside the pump goes away every 10-15 sec when pumping)
can u suggest which electric pump is good n affordable like Avent or Evenflo or anyother. i heard Medela , ameda pumps are of too much cost .
anyone hv experience with Avent electric pump as medela pump is of much cost , which is cud’nt afford.
Its an Avent brand and it seems like a waste to just through it out?Anyone?
My first question is can it go in the microwave using the Avent Microwave Sterilizer?
