I am wondering if one hurts less than the other? I have the Avent Isis manual pump and it hurts like heck & I can’t get good suction the few times I have tried it. Like with breastfeeding, does it hurt for awhile and then does it get more tolerable? I don’t know if I should get the Medela Harmony (manual) or their electric and whether one hurts more than the other.

I’m looking into breast pumps. I’m torn between the Ameda or the Avent. I want the dual electric one, but I just can’t decide which to choose. Please give me the reasons why you DIDN’T like the pump and some reasons why you did like it. I’m inducing lactation so I need something easy to use, and something that will hold up. (I’m not interested in a Medela.) Thank you!
Does anyone know what kind of difference it makes to have the areola stimulators as opposed to not having them? Both Ameda and Avent offer them.

We used Avent bottles and breast pump for a while with my daughter, but when we sterilized them, they seemed to get a flaky, milky buildup over times. We’re currently looking at getting a new Avent breast pump, since it worked best for us, but my husband accidently washed the valve down the drain, so I’m just wondering how I can prevent the flaky, milky buildup on the bottles and breast pump this time.
Any advice? We don’t want to be throwing them out again.

I am a stay at home mom expecting my second baby in September. I am looking to purchase a breast pump for occasional use if we go out for the evening or if my husband wants to bottle feed once in awhile. There is so many tyoes of pumps out there that I dont know what kind to buy. Manual, electric, Avent, Medela, Gerber? Any advice?
