Ameda or Avent breast pump?

From the research my husband did online (isn’t he the best?), it looks like the Ameda brand pump is the best one for my needs. Avent is the runner up. However, it doesn’t look like Amedas are sold in my area, which makes me think I should go with Avent since the accessories and everything will be more available. Has anyone used the Ameda and decided they can’t live without it? What about the Avent? I’d love to know what real women think about them.

Problem with Avent breast pump, the small `star’ part pops after a while.?

For those of you who use the Avent breast pump, have you ever encountered the little `star’ part popping? i have had 2 Avent breast pumps, and the same thing happened to both my pumps after using it for a while.. like 6 months. I saw some people using the same pump for 3 kids.. how do you do that?
Can you use avent storage bottles with a medela breast pump ?

i have a electric/manual breast pump and i was wondering if the avent breastfeeding storage bottles will work with the pump ?
